This year “Mystery Run” will bring us from the Renegade Classics parking lot to the Desert Diamond Casino in Sahuarita through the San Xavier Mission, a super scenic road.
It’s all for the underprivileged kids, so bring out the toys like you do each year, you’ll make some happy children.
Pre-registration at the Renegade Classics Store, from Nov 21st to Nov 28th. On the day of the event, registration will start at Renegade at 8 am and will end at 11 am. Last bike out at 11 am!
The Toy Run party will start at the Desert Diamond Casino at 11 am and will end at 4 pm. There will be live music, a live comedy show, food (breakfast and lunch buffet) and loads of good-hearted fun!

Two friends of the shop, Mike and Sandy, pulled into our parking lot this week, riding this beauty.
Yes, it’s in Indian motorcycle with a custom tub. A sidecar! We only have a few of them in Tucson, mainly Ural machines.
The style is a 1930 Art Deco, with the 4 accent lines that are not without reminding us of the Yamaha Roadliner.
The quilted seat is beautiful, the valance of the tub fender very graceful and completed by classic teardrop taillights. Of note too, the door cut out in the frame of the tub. Unusual in vintage-style tubs which, in the main, force passengers to throw a leg over the side to enter or get out. The windshield is high and wide, protecting the passenger well from rain and road projections.
A solid design feature is the long pipes, which seem to be well baffled to protect the passenger ears. Finally, we admired the satin finish of the paint job which extends to the back of the mirror, showing a great level of attention to details.
A beautiful ride, indeed.
Interesting list of 10 memorable motorcycle rides. The author, Chris Parker, selected a diversity of itineraries across 12 States. Most are 1-day rides of 60-130 miles, except a long one stretching for over 400 miles across Tennessee, Alabama and Mississipi. Fodder for cruiser riders and long-distance tourers.
The article describes the landscape and historical events that happened there, and gives a few hints on technical difficulty, such as beware of moose crossings on Maine roads. There are useful planning notes at the end of each section, hinting at the type of gear you will need to ride comfortably and the seasons to avoid.
All along, a nicely documented article published by National Geographic. Our only regret: no word on Southern Arizona, the Grand Canyon or the Tonto Forest, all rides that rank at par with most of those covered by the article. Oh well, next time maybe!
